Ok, I was really excited when I found my Gaggia evolution outside today. Fired it up, and I have been having nothing but problems. Namely, instead of coming out in a stream, the coffee spurts out. In fact it does this so hard, that at the beginning, it sprays out of the cup, past the drip tray and onto the counter. It does not do this with an empty basket.
I have experimented with different grind settings, from pretty course, to extra fine, and different amounts of tamping from really digging into it to nearly nothing at all, but it still spurts. No matter what or how I put it in there, it spurts.
Help! My husband thinks it's the machine. I really hope it's not, and that I just don't know what I'm doing, but really, should it be THIS hard?
