Coffee Roaster Position

Hey Topher, I have been roasting for 3 days in Mississippi,do I qualify??? Talk to you Monday. Gator

Depends...can you drink through a straw? Can you keep cool if I tell you that the Gators suck? Just messin with ya....so how goes the roasting? Any fires yet? How did the cupping go in NOLA? Oh well talk to you later....oh and by the way...Gators do suck!

Topher,

I have been home roasting for about 3 months and I really want to move to Florida! Is that good enough? All kidding aside, I know you have been looking for a while. Does that mean that there are not many roasters out there, or that most roasting jobs simply don't pay enough to make a mvoe? Just curious.

actually we hired someone...meanjoebean started a week ago...thank goodness...its not a pay issue, its finding someone qualified. See I stole joe from the casino I used to roast for...he took over my job there after I left...ww5220 was kidding...he is the guy who is training to take meanjoes place at the casino now

Topher,

Glad you found someone. I can understand the challenge of finding someone qualified. There are two wholesale roasters in my area -- one in the same town, one 60 miles away. I was interested in learning the trade myself, whether I actually ever used it professionally or not, but I couldn't get either one interested in training me -- not even for free labor. I realize that no one wants to train their competition, but that wasn't my intent. It is difficult to learn a trade that no one is willing to teach!
