The Melittas were inexpensive machines but they routed the water feed tube so that it retained the proper temp. I have one that we got back in the 90s from Gevalia that I keep in case a guest ever demands Drip Coffee. Nice examples bring around $70 on Ebay these days.

Dear Johny,
I am referring to the majority of the U.S. coffee drinkers as big manufactures design there coffee makers to use drip or cone ground coffee. Vaccuum and french press coffee makers are the best way to brew a cup but the majority of americans are not going to wait for that long long cup of coffee. So, the next best thing is a Drip coffee maker, and a quality one makes a big difference.
