There are already a number of very strong local specialty coffee players in the market in the main ities around the Phils. the leader would be figaro Coffee, which I believe now has over 100 branches arund the country. Like in Indonesia, the Philippine market has its own local preferences (Baroka there- robusta here!) so going with a franchise system from abroad may not be the wayto go. I would set up your own business- there are now a number of solid roasters around, or as you are setting up in the 12th biggest producing country, why not look at roastng your own?
