Using Coffee Grinders to grind Herb Leaves into Powders?

I would like to know if regular electric coffee grinders can be used to grind herb leaves and spices into fine powder form? Can anyone help me? Thanks!!

I'd say the electric blade choppers you see for $10-15 would be fine for this, but why into powder? Too fine and heat buildup caused by those choppers might ruin any "herbal" benefit obtainable.

I you use a grinder for herbs you can never use it again with coffee.
