Worldwide shortage of Arabica Beans! Prices are going up!

Have you heard the news or gave you seen the price increase where you are? Were up 20% over the past 10 days and headed to South America to reserve our inventory. We go through 100,000 pounds a quarter and have enough for 30 days we started raising our prices yesterday.

Have ver you seen this from your roaster or suppliers?

I have been been reading at least 2-3 articles a day of the situation. Good luck put a little in reserve just incase we see a 60-70% mark up over the next 6 months.

We had a huge spike in pricing a few years ago....went well over $3 a lb. Luckily I was locked in on my Brazils!

When the price of coffee went up a few years ago, many roasters either raised their prices or started selling 12-ounce packages at the same price as what they had been charging for a pound. But, a year or so ago, when the price of coffee went down, (which most of the public didn't know about) the roasters didn't lower their prices. Now, the price of coffee is going up again. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I do not think it will spike like before...have spoken to a few brokers and they seem to think it should come down...
