This forum has done very good by me in the past, and for that, I thank you!

My wife and I are taking the plunge .. we have a signed lease and are in the buildout process now. That said, I am going "used" rather than "new" whenever possible to keep down costs.

I am looking for a good two group .. doesn't have to be a La Marzocco (but it could be), but must be temp-stable.

I am very skeptical of Ebay machines and my local craigslist reads like a who's who of JC Penny's espresso section.

I can't see spending much more than $2,000 because at that point, we may as well finance.

Lots of Love!

Thanks! I've looked through the craigslist offerings pretty extensively these past few weeks. The goal is to find a machine that can be vetted. The last thing we need is to purchase someone elses headache.

La Marzocco has lots of recalled machines they are trying to fix. Might be a good idea to stay away from. Let's not forget the Strada Mp disaster from La Marzocco.

Do you you have a budget? You may want to set one and look at machines in the price range you can afford.

We use Synesso, they are great machines that are very consistent.

Are you talking about that boiler-group gasket thing? As far as I'm aware, new machines are seam-welded.
