Hey guys im new to the forum and French press and coffee in general sort of. I have a question though that I can't seem to find an answer too when searching for it on google. I have a 32oz Bodum French press and was wondering after i have no more liquid left in the carafe is it alright too add more hot water? or should i start over and add fresh ground beans and do the process over again?

Thank you

When you brew coffee, you are actually using hot water to extract the coffee flavor from the grounds. The most pleasant (for most people) flavors are extracted early in the brew. As the water extracts more, the flavor will get more and more bitter.

So, adding more water to the french press will "work" but the resulting coffee will be very bitter. You probably will not like the result.
My recommendation would be to dump out the old grounds, put new grounds and make a new brew.

ok, thank you, i was thinking that would be the best way too.
