I have been doing some research on adding a small tea room to my coffee store. I originally had the thought of creating a space to rent out for meetings. As a member of different service oranizations, I know the challenge in finding a meeting place for small groups. Restaurants want to charge a small fortune. I thought I could install some cabinets and still use the space for some storage. I thought I could also use the space for tea parties. What are your thoughts?

Is this a room for any situation or for tea specifically? You need to think about how to generate revenues from this room. If the area is under utilize then you are wasting valuable real estate.

It would be available for all types of meetings (study groups, civic clubs, etc) and I have also noticed a growing trend for tea parties for children, bridal parties, people in general. Its not soething set in stone, but I know of a few ladies who travel 40 minutes to vsit a tea room.

Wouldn't a large round table in a quiet corner with a "reservation available" sign do the same trick? I know a place let their cupping table use for group meeting purpose.

That may certainly be a better option for us. Then, if finances and space allow, we could add one down the road.
