Hi there
I have a Isomac Viper Espresso machine, but am having some issues. The last time I used the machine I found that the pressure at the steam wand would decrease and not increase or go up. I also noticed a distinct burnt metallic smell in the milk. I thought possibly it was burnt milk inside the wand. Can anyone give me some info on this?

Many thanks

I think it is boiler problem. Check and see if the boiler is work properly by checking if there is any leak or too much scale build up.

Could be calcium buildup (from milk) in the steam wand tip. Do you clean the tip often? Alot of machines allow the tip to be removed from the wand for a good soaking.

You should always purge the tip after each use as well. A quick burst of steam alone usually won't do it... I clean by submerging the tip in a mug of water, opening the steam valve and activate the pump until I get all steam out and have hot water flowing through. This can be done on pretty much any single boiler/double use home machine. It cleans out the tip well and ensures the boiler is topped off for further use.

You may also want to descale the boiler, steam valve/wand as well.
