Rancilio steamer is slow

Hey there

I have a Rancilio Silva (2016) that worked fine for the first month or so.

But, now the steamer has gotten really slow. After reading different posts online, I have tried the following with no solution:

1) Heating steamer (button pressed) from the beginning - the machine will take about 20-25 minutes before the light goes out indicating it's ready. Often the machine times out and turns off before this happens.

2) NOT pressing streamer-button from the beginning. Then I can make espresso in about 4-5 minutes, which is fine. After making the espresso, I will then press the steamer-button, but it will still take about 15 minutes to heat up. I try to let some hot water/air out, but it does not help.

Any solution to this problem?

Best,
Steven, Copenhagen

Hey Steven, I have a few Rancilio machines and the fact that your machine is turning off is not normal operation. I would contact Rancilio directly as you may have a larger problem. Also since you purchase the machine this year it should still be under warranty.

For the record my machines take about 15 minutes to warm up.
