I did my first Columbian roast two weeks ago in the Whirley Popper that includes a thermometer, all for under $40 after I returned a high end coffee roaster due to fire concerns (lack of access to beans during potential fire). I'd recommend this as a good way to roast coffee on a stove but be careful no to burn the beans because the flame heats up a very light thin metal bottom quickly. My coffee was slightly burned on medium heat in 6 minutes though done.

I saw the other roasters they sell and settled for a Whirley Popper that does just fine for what I need.
