Getting good microfoam w/ De'Longhi ECP3420 OR should I just get NanoFoamer???

I'm struggling to get the 'wet paint' milk with my De'Longhi ECP3420 wand. I've tried taking off the outside metal part of the wand and that helps somewhat.

What adjustments to my machine's wand would you make to help OR different wands for that machine? OR. Would you just get the NanoFoamer instead of using the wand?

Any tips for using my machines wand to heat the milk and then using the NanoFoamer?

Any other tips without having to spend more than $100.
