Kick the tires and light the fires

I am in discussions with a guy who has a 13 y/o Toper 10k roaster. He is the second owner and has had it for 11 years. Can you give me some suggestions for what to look for when inspecting the roaster? The motor has been replaced, but I think everything else is original. I have been tracking the other threads on these older turkish roasters, and I understand their value and some of the risks involved. I'd appreciate some specific suggestions.

I had a 10k for a while. I assume it has an external chaff collector? These machines are very basic...in my opinion that is a good thing. If you can post pics or have any specific concerns pm me...or email me at topherroaster@gmail.com Good luck!

Yes it has an external chaff collector. Very basic machine, cast iron drum. I felt the simplicity would work in my favor as I learned to get to the next level of the craft. When I meet him again I will get some pics and send them. Appreciate your help.

May I be nosey and all what you are paying for the machine? I will be in the market for a roaster early next year and I would just like a reference point.

He has not named his price yet. I will let you know what the price turns out to be, should I get to that point.
