Vacuum brewers

Hi

I am in the market for a new cofee maker (up to now I have used a filter maker) and have been looking at the yama table top (5 cup) brewer. The thing that is holding me back, however, is a total lack of knowledge about them. I have read al that I can find online and they sound good but, they all state \"place x scoops of coffee into the top section\" without fail. Does this mena that, unlike a filter machine, you cannot maje a single cup if you want?

I''m in the same position that you''re in. I can only find so much info on the net, but not enough to satisfy my mind to buy some. I guess it''s one of those things that you would have to buy one and use trial and error.
