My situation is this:

I'm trying to get my roasting business off the ground while still holding down my day job managing a plumbing company. To keep costs down I will be roasting out of a customized shipping container (basically an out building). There is no electricity out there so my plan was to run an extension cord to power a couple lights and the roaster (which I have not purchased yet and appreciate any input for that). Does anybody know if you can get enough electricity from an extension cord to run a 2-3 kilo propane roaster? Also any recommendations on a 2-3 kilo roaster? I have read a bunch of the threads about roasters and it seems that Ambex is a favorite for the price and that I should contact the manufacturer for used/refurbished availability.

Thanks for you help.

Ben

You didn't say how long a run it would be, but with a heavy cord should be OK. You'll only have the drum motor and the cooling tray stirrer motor.

Thanks Peter. The run would have been about 100' but since I posted this I found an indoor location that I can set up my roaster.
