I've recently moved up from a 2kilo to a 5kilo drum roaster and am having trouble with bean tipping. What is the general thought behind cause? Temp too high at charge? Flame to high during temp drop to turn point? temp too high during drying phase? temp too high in 1c stage??? This is a USR 5kilo roaster with stainless drum. I had not trouble with this on my 2 kilo machine. Learning curve I'm sure.
I've read a lot online aout the condition but cannot pinpoint the time it actually occurs.

Chris
give Dan a call and he will most likely solve your problem...I do not have a tipping problem on my 3KG US Roaster.

Happy Turkey Day!!

I know tipping is casued by too high drum temp but did not know if it happened at charging or during the roast when more heat is applied. I believe I have been appltying too much heat throughout. With my 2kilo machine it was a little light on BTU's and I guess old habbits are hard to break. Last few roast sessions have been better. Still...knowing at what point of the roast it occurs would be a big help.
